James G. Gilyard
Mr. Gilyard joined our firm in May of 2022. Before joining Craddick, Candland & Conti, Mr. Gilyard gained extensive litigation experience in Construction Defect, Habitability, Premises Liability, Products Liability, Employment, Securities, Consumer Protection, and Antitrust litigation. His litigation experience includes managing large numbers of cases from inception through mediation and beyond. He previously clerked at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California for the Hon. Martin J. Jenkins, currently serving on the California Supreme Court.
While in law school, Mr. Gilyard served as a tutor in Torts, Contract, and Constitutional Law for the Academic Support Program (ASP), serving minority law students. He also served as an extern for the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and as a summer associate for McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen (currently Morgan Lewis) for two summers. Prior to college, Mr. Gilyard also served four (4) years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps with distinction.
Mr. Gilyard’s current practice primarily includes professional malpractice defense of physicians, hospitals and other health care providers.
